The Royal Louis was the largest and most powerful first rank vessel of the French Royal Navy in 1780. Armed with 120 guns, she carried a crew of 1,260. Kit by Mamoli is an authentic representation of this mighty vessel. Construction is double plank-on-bulkhead using laser. Cut poplar, walnut, tanganyka, mahogany, beech and other fine hardwoods. Bulkheads and keel are laser cut to close tolerances. Lower deck portholes are framed in white metal for perfect alignment. Fittings include burnished metal cannon, blackened metal railings, walnut blocks and deadeyes, six sizes of rigging and silk-screened flags. Through the stern balcony windows of the finished model, you’ll see a complete and accurate under-deck. Finished size: 43″ length, 33″ hight, scale 1:90.
